Connect With…,the young professionals collaborative facilitated by FOCUS St. Louis, presents Connect With…A Purpose on Saturday, May 16, 2009. This is a unique opportunity for young professionals to make new connections while giving back to the community.
Participants will volunteer for one of the many organizations that are members of the Connect With… collaborative from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and then join together for a BBQ in Tower Grove Park. The BBQ will feature all the Connect With… member organizations that support social service non-profits in our community who are really making a difference.
Volunteer projects for the day include:
· Volunteer at the Central Institute for the Deaf to assist with organizing the library and the computer room.
· Help out at the second annual 5K Run/Walk sponsored by Family Resource Center’s Junior Advocacy Board
· Join the United Way’s GenNext for their volunteer project at the St. Louis Food Bank.
· Work at Hostelling International’s Century Ride helping with registration, food, and rest stops for the cyclists.
· Have fun in the garden with I Squared, the International Institute’s young friends group as they prepare their garden for summer veggies.
